Split/allocate costs at dimension level – Acubiz Help Center

Split on dimension means that a transaction can be split on several values at the same dimension level. It is only possible to split on one and the same dimension level at a time. An example could be a split on a department dimension.

Example:

In the split box, specify the %rate split on the selected dimensions:

Thus, the cost is split between several departments in the bookkeeping:

Note. Splitting/distribution can only be done on one dimension level at a time. The option to split on multiple dimension levels can be activated, but splitting on one dimension level will exclude splitting on other dimension levels on the individual transaction. For example, one transaction can be split on the Department dimension and another transaction can be split on the Project dimension. (See exceptions below)

Exceptions:

Dimension-driven chart of accounts
If a dimension-driven chart of accounts is used, splitting cannot be done at the dimension level that controls the chart of accounts.
Dimension dependency
If dimension dependency is used, splitting can only be done at the lowest dimension level. For example, if the project dimension (Dim2) is dependent on the selection in the department dimension (Dim1), splitting can only be done on the project dimension (Dim2)
