This overview serves as inspiration for configuring your Acubiz environment. The listed expense types represent the categories most commonly used by employees on the go, based on experience.

Automation via Type Codes (MCC)

To optimize the user experience and reduce manual entry, the overview is mapped to relevant Merchant Category Codes (MCC). This enables a higher degree of automation when importing credit card transactions.

Important Considerations for Setup

It is not recommended to automate all accounts and expense types via type codes. Pay particular attention to the following:

• Accuracy and Data Quality: Some type codes cover too broad a range of goods for direct mapping.
  • Example: A purchase at a supermarket can include everything from meals to IT accessories. A fixed mapping to one specific expense type will result in mispostings.
• Recommendation: Avoid automatic mapping on vendors or categories with a broad range of goods. This forces the employee to manually decide on the categorization, ensuring higher data quality in accounting.
