Split/Allocate Costs at Dimension Level – Acubiz Help Center

Splitting on a dimension refers to the ability to divide a transaction across multiple values within the same dimension level. It is only permissible to perform a split on one dimension level at a time. For example, a split could be executed on a department dimension.

Example:

In the split box, specify the %rate split on the selected dimensions:

Thus, the cost is split between several departments in the bookkeeping:

ℹ️ Splitting or distribution can only be performed on one dimension level at a time. Although the option to enable splitting across multiple dimension levels is available, splitting on one dimension level will exclude the possibility of splitting on other dimension levels within the same individual transaction. For example, one transaction may be split based on the Department dimension, while another transaction may be split based on the Project dimension. (Please refer to the exceptions outlined below.)

⚠️ Exceptions:

Dimension-Driven Chart of Accounts
When utilizing a dimension-driven chart of accounts, it is not possible to perform splitting at the dimension level that governs the chart of accounts.
Dimension Dependency
In cases where dimension dependency is applied, splitting is permitted only at the lowest dimension level. For instance, if the project dimension (Dim2) depends on the selection made in the department dimension (Dim1), splitting may only be executed on the project dimension (Dim2).
